The Temptations – Truly for You
Released: 1984
Label: Gordy/Motown Records
Notes:
Front cover: Their best album of the ’80’s. This is in pretty good shape. The border wasn’t as vivid as intended but parts of it were so I used those as a reference for the intended look and restored though color replacement. The cut-out notch couldn’t have been in a worse place. It’s right in the “u” in “Truly for You”. I spent much time reshaping the letter to make it undetectable. I think I got away with it.
Back cover: This, too, was deceptively difficult. I had to replace the entire border to make it stick out the way it was intended. Parts of it still did so I used the good parts as a reference. Of course, the cut-out notch is echoed here and I got rid of it through cloning. In an unrelated note, it appears Michael Boddicker appeared on absolutely every release starting this year and into 1987 or so. I don’t know how or when he slept.
Labels: Both labels in great shape, though harder to color match than I thought they’d be. I adjusted the color at the scanning stage to make it work. The spindle hole removal was simple for both.
